Nangomba Clinic gets upgrade with betPawa support
Mtwara, 30th September 2024… A facility officer working at Nangomba Clinic has realised his dream of expanding and upgrading the health centre to enable it operate more effectively and serve more residents, after he shared his aspirations with betPawa.
The officer - Anania Muba - reached out to betPawa through the Dream Maker initiative by the brand, seeking support in completing the renovation of the public facility after progress had stalled.
“My dream was to see the completion of the renovation and expansion of our clinic. The building we were housed in previously was in poor condition and was not safe for use as a healthcare facility,” Muba said.
“I thank betPawa for making my dream a reality and honouring my request within such a short time. Our people can now enjoy services in a modern, safe and sanitary environment.”
Dream Maker is a community outreach initiative by betPawa aimed at helping people realise their aspirations that improve the socio-economic status of their areas.
It offers people from all walks of life the opportunity to bring their BIGGEST dreams to life by submitting their proposals to betPawa. This is done either online through the Dream Maker website or offline whereby the brand’s team tours various areas to interact with communities and collect their dreams.
Muba is among 20 dreamers whose projects were picked for support by betPawa during season two of the Dream Maker initiative in Tanzania.
“Today we are here to hand over the completed building, thanks to Muba who was selfless enough to think about the people of this area, having seen first-hand the need for this facility and the number of residents it impacts,” said betPawa’s East Africa Manager Borah Ndanyungu.
“It is such considerate dreams that inspire us and drive the Dream Maker agenda because we know that together we can make a lasting and positive difference one community at a time,” she added.
The upgrade and expansion included repairing damaged walls, raising the building's height, adding ring beams, and finishing touches like plastering, installing doors, tiling, painting the walls and closing windows at a cost of TSh69.3 Million.
