betPawa partners with FUFA to boost Ugandan Football
We remain committed to our mandate of promoting sports developments across Africa. So far, we have had tremendous successes using partnerships with sports bodies to drive developments in countries like Rwanda, Ghana and Kenya.
In light of this, we have joined hands with the Federation of Ugandan Football Associations (FUFA) in a groundbreaking partnership worth UGX 1.18billion ($320,000) to promote sports football development in Uganda.
This partnership will be committed to giving a facelift to football standards throughout Uganda, nurturing young local talents, augmenting and bolstering the fanbase. This partnership will also see the coming to light of three flagship properties of the FUFA 23/24, viz: the betPawa BIG League, betPawa Futsal League and the FUFA Drum.
The Futsal competition will offer benefits which include awards for Player of the Season, Best Coach, Most Assists, Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the season, Best Goalkeeper and Best Young Player of the Season. The Big League will also have an award for league winner, which will be one of four teams that will earn a promotion to the country’s top tier league at the end of each season.
Speaking about this partnership, Ntoudi Mouyelo, Managing Director at Mchezo Africa (parent company of betPawa) said: “We are thrilled to collaborate with FUFA in accelerating the growth of Ugandan football. This partnership is a significant investment in our local players and teams, and together, we can enhance the experience for fans and players alike. We are creating more opportunities for all those involved in Ugandan football."
Adding to this, FUFA President, Moses Hassim Magogo remarked, “This partnership marks a pivotal moment for Ugandan football. It is more than just financial support; it is a firm pledge to the future of our beloved sport, a promise to double down on our shared vision for progress."
While the umbrella benefits of this partnership will see to the nurturing of football talents in Uganda, improving sports standards in Uganda and advancing the fanbase, it is also worthwhile to know that this partnership also aims at motivating players with the Locker Room Bonus.
Expanding on the Locker Room Bonus, Mouyelo explained, “Under this partnership we are introducing the Locker Room Bonus which offers players fast and direct benefits. The players who make the squad list per match will get cash tokens sent to their phones after the game if their team wins. We are setting aside 25% of the value of this partnership towards this LRB.”
