betPawa supports government beach clean up initiative
Freetown, 19th November 2024… betPawa has led a team of Sierra Leoneans in the clean up of Lumley/Aberdeen Beach Area, an iconic tourist attraction in Freetown.
The clean up, done in partnership with the National Tourist Board, was held on Saturday 16th November as part of the holistic cleaning the government is undertaking to make sure the area is ready for the upcoming tourist season.
“The Lumley beach is one of our most iconic tourist attractions at the centre of the city but has had serious challenges in terms of waste management that heightened during the rainy season with a mighty flow of seaweed,” said Fatmata Fida Carew, the General Manager of the National Tourist Board.
To implement the project betPawa put in NLe 113.6 Million towards facilitating the clean up.
“We are thrilled to partner with the government in this initiative which will prepare the beach for the tourist season that will kick off soon. It’s uplifting to think that so many people are going to have unforgettable experiences here over the next few months, helped by this collaboration,” said betPawa’s Regional Corporate Social Responsibility Manager Nii Ashong-Katai.
betPawa launched in the country in March and this is its most ambitious community campaign to date.
The betting brand which promises to make betting friendly reiterated its commitment to assisting the government in sports and community development.
